tART: temporary art in downtown public places

Our first event kicks off October 18th @ Tinnin Park.
tART: temporary art in downtown public places is a Downtown Action Team & MainStreet initiative, in collaboration with ArtsCrawl and Creative Albuquerque, to bring temporary art to underutilized sites throughout the Downtown area. Such sites include, but are not limited to, Tinnin Art Park, the KiMo Theatre gallery, 100 Gold Avenue, and other vacant and underutilized storefront sites as well as operational businesses and organizations.

The purpose of the project is threefold: to provide year-round support of artists, existing art programs and events; promote a regular art activity which gives people a reason to linger in downtown; and activate underutilized spaces and places that could benefit from increased visitation.
